Breaking Benjamin – Sooner or Later
I love this band/song. My fav since 07. A lot of good memories, and not so great listening to these songs. Thanks for everything Jennay.
How does it make you feel JusT?
This song is the epitome of why break ups occur. It makes me think about past relationships I’ve been in where we both knew it wasn’t going to work, and yet we dance around it. Relationships that foster pretension are emotionally/physically/spiritually draining. At the end of the day I pretty much just wish I had my time back. Why we choose to stay in situations we aren’t legally bound to is beyond me. But in the end you can only take but so much right?
On Time God.
As much as I love Christian Hip Hop (and am a proponent of it), when things get tough, and I need something to lift my spirit, it’s not usually Christian Hip Hop or Contemporary Christian Rock/Worship. It’s that old school, Rhodes ridden, b4 driven, good old Black Gospel.
I grew up on this music. It was this music that taught me about God’s relationship with me as His child. Given it’s not surging with Scripture, but it has shaped my theology to an extent. I remember DA Truth’s song “Pain” off of the Big Picture, and he borrows the phrase “He may not come when you want Him, but He’s always on time” originally coined by Dottie Peoples.
This song brings back memories when things were different, not better or worse, just different. Back when I knew nothing of God, but knew all that I had to know to revere and respect our relationship.
God never misses a beat.
Thank you for bringing this simple, yet true proclamation about You back to mind Lord Jesus. Amen.
